If your carrier can give you the PRL in a file format, you can load it into your phone from the ##PST screen.
If your carrier cannot give you the PRL in a file format, you are stuck. [This is similar to the discussion Dan and some others were having about using a SPRINT phone on Verizon and vice versa].

Not only unique but as i found out today changes after you use it several times as mine did today after looking at stuff.. the guy at the sprint store today told me it will change after so many tries for security reasons..

once again a store tech has lied. or at the very least not told the whole truth.
after he let you in on the inside information did he offer to sell you a special 6600 whose MSL never changes?
FACTS about Sprint MSLs:
your MSL will NEVER change.
Sprint randomly assigns a 6 digit OTKSL (One Time Key Subsidy Lock)and a 6 MSL(Master Subsidy Lock) for every phone.
There is no algorithm to decipher one using the ESNHEX or ESNDEC.
The OTKSL is used to activate a phone the first time (after which it is useless) when you activate over the phone, this is the number you are supposed to be given. However, most sprint reps will skip straight to the MSL since on some phones entering the 'activation code' incorrectly causes them to restart and if the OTKSL has been used before, it will read as incorrect.

So i guess the one he gave me for my phone .. only worked for about 4 tries.. then that was it.. it was the OTKSL?
