This past week, Conduits Technologies, Inc. announced the release of Pocket Player 3.5 for
Windows Mobile 6 Standard and Professional devices, and all previous models. Pocket Player aims to satisfy consumers who demand more from a media player on a mobile device. The new version includes new browsing features, a rewrite of the library system, updates to plugins, and many other fixes.
I have been using Pocket Player for several months and have just finished a review on the latest version that highlights most of the new features as well. I began my search for a new Media Player because of the poor RAM usage characteristics of Microsoft's Media Player. After trying several, I settled on Pocket Player and have had a great experience using it.
One of the coolest parts of the new version is the ability to use touchscreen gestures to navigate your music library. The prior version was already very iPod like in its navigation, but you had to use the hardware switches to navigate. Now you can just swipe your finger on the screen to get where you want to go.
