HTC's Answer to the iPhone - HTC Touch

HTC Corp., the world's leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart devices has announced the global launch of the much anticipated HTC Touch. The new HTC Touch is a very small and stylish PDAPhone that brings a new concept in intuitive screen navigation to market... just before the iPhone hits the streets. The groundbreaking HTC Touch offers a new and unique way of controlling touch screen-based devices by recognising and responding to the sweep of a finger across the screen. It is even intelligent enough to distinguish between finger and stylus input and then respond accordingly.

The HTC Touch is the first device to feature TouchFLO, the new underlying touch screen technology developed by HTC. The user simply sweeps their finger up the display to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three screens: Contacts, Media and Applications. The interface can be spun by swiping a finger right or left across the display, providing efficient access to the features consumers use most. TouchFLO also enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.

That's OK, I can wait.
I'm NOT switching to anything else unless it comes from HTC AND, in this case, IF (and WHEN) THEY COME to the U.S! Until then, I'll stick with my 6600 (and NOT because of SPRINT)!
I figure they've got to be bitting at the bit to get into our market. Maybe they're waiting to see what happens w/ the iPhone (if so, dumb move). Maybe, once Palm is sold...YEAH, RIGHT!

I agree with the other posters. I cannot imagine myself typing email with an on-screen keyboard. iPhone (and this HTC Touch) is for amateurs. Mobile devices like the 6700/6800 and the blackberry are for real techies.

I'm in a HSPDA coverage area with AT&T. If I can ever convince the sales rep in the store to sell me a sim card I'll compare EVDO on Verizonwireless to UMTS on AT&T. I'm activating another HTC device called the Advantage (US version, no video conferencing).
