Samsung i700 Car Kit Reviewed

<img src="images/review-i700-carkit-01.jpg" width="300" align="right">User micron1 has published a great review on the new Samung i700 Car Kit. Samsung has done a good job getting some accessories out early after releasing the i700 - keyboard and car kit... while they've done a poor job getting others out quickly - case and serial cable (if they every make one of these).

Bottom line is that he really likes the mount. If you use a slipper type case, you'll have to remove it to put it in the mount. Some folks might not like that. Also, I also don't see any way to use it with a GPS since the SD slot is blocked, and the sync connector is occupied. I'm sure someone here will come up with the necessary mod to get a GPS to work in time. Of course, if you have the car that micron1 has, then you'd not be worrie about that!

Another Car Kit Owner

I just put in my car kit over the weekend. I had no problems other than it was hotter than hell outside. I installed mine in my truck. The unit works really well. The con's being that there is no external antenna, voice recognition doesn't work well for me whilst I'm crusinin at 55 ahem, it works if I am waiting at a light or at sublight speeds. My unit seems to fit better with the big battery in the cradle. The small battery just makes it feel too loose. I'd love to have a new Nissan to put this into but I can't load supplies into that. Thumbs up!
