<img src="images/accessory-ppct-adapter4.jpg" align="right">If you own a HTC made Pocket PC Phone Edition (XDA, T-Mobile, AT&T Siemens, etc.), you are likely aware that it has a unique headset adapter that is a hybrid between a 2.5mm earbud and 3.5mm stereo CD player headphones. pdaPhoneHome published an article a few months ago that reviewed all the available headset adapters for the XDA. Ironically, the adapter that I use most wasn't in this list. I have been using a homemade adapter in my car with the XDA. It provides standard 3.5mm stereo output, but leaves the internal XDA microphone turned on. Most adapters either route the microphone input to the adapter, or disable it. Because the XDA microphone is an excellent speakerphone mic, you won't to be able to leave it enabled in the car. This new adapter will nicely replace my hacked cable collection and provide a means to attach to my JVC in dash CD player/receiver (with front panel audio input). I will still need to use a male to mail 3.5mm extension, but that is a standard cable available from Radio Shack.
