The cool things on the G1000 on the one I had a chance to play with is that the keyboard allows for 8 user assignable quick launch keys, very nice(those with a Jornada with a pocket keyboard and HP Hot Key know what a convience it is), but it is a trade for the loss of the navigation button and the keyboard isn't backlit like the HP Pocket Keyboard, but it does have the keyboard lock switch to advert any unexpected key presses.

It also sports very accurate Voice dialing with some training, but when I tried it, it worked well for me.

However the lack of BT and SDIO, are too big of a downside for me to purchase one.

Can someone tell me, or send the URL for a page to explain, what is the difference between SD and SD/IO? Thanks. (Basically I want the G1000 to have a choice of more memory or Blultooth.

Basically SD stands for Secure Digital slot that allows the writing and reading to an SD memory card or MMC (Multi-Media Card) memory card.

SDIO stands for Secure Digital Input/Output allows for the same as an SD slot, but with the added benefit of the ability to communicate with hardware in the SD slot say a BlueTooth card, WiFi Card, or GPS given there are proper drivers in the device. Since there isn't an SDIO slot there can be no Bluetooth,WiFI, GPS via the SD slot added to the G1000 only memory.

If you would like a more technical answer Intel does a great job explaining it here.
