Spb Releases New Backup Program

Spb Software House, a leading Pocket PC software developer, releases Spb Backup - a new Pocket PC utility for backing up all of your Pocket PC content to a storage card.

Spb Backup is based on the proven technology used in Spb Clone. Thousands of enterprise users rely upon Spb Clone to create exact copies of their "master" PDA devices. This tested technology was used to create a backup program that would benefit Pocket PC consumers at all levels.

Spb Backup creates a self-restoring image file that can be restored with or without installing the main Spb Backup application. The backup file can be compressed and password protected with strong 128-bit AES algorithm. The scheduled backup features will help users to have regular, mistake-free backups.

Spb Backup features include:
  • Scheduled backups
  • Self restoring backup files
  • Options to separately backup PIM data, emails, "My Documents" folder, and system data
  • Backup file compression and encryption
  • Today plug-in with previous and next backup date notification
  • Desktop PC utility for extracting information from backup files
You can get your copy at our store HERE.

technical support?

I've been posting queries to SPB technical support since the middle of last week and so far there is no answer to my question posted. Also, there doesn't seem to be a direct address for email support.

I was very happy with my registered SPB backup 1.0 and then tried to install upgrade 1.1 on my XV6700. It not only failed to install, but now 1.0 doesn't work. It doesn't do scheduled backups and just hangs on estimating file size when I try a manual backup. I just tried deleting all the SPB files and registry entries I could find and reinstalling 1.0, but it still fails to install.

So, first, I would not recommend running the upgrade unless others managed it successfully. And, second, SPB could work on their tech support.

I just installed 1.1.2 and now my PPC hangs after periods of inactivity. Seems to back up great and faster than I thought it would.

I am awaiting a responce from techSupport on the slow response.
