This has been floating around the internet for the last couple of weeks, so it makes sense for us to start talking about it here. HP has chosen Quanta for a follow-on to its h6315 PDAPhone, dropping the maker of that device. O2 is currently selling the Atom is Asia. Rumor is that HP will bring this to market in April '06 as the iPAQ 6800, but of course this is subject to change.
The Atom / 800 will have:
- Windows Mobile 5
- Tri-band GSM with Edge
- FM Radio
- 2MP Digital Camera
- Bluetooth w/ A2DP adn AVRCP support
- WiFi
- 64MB RAM
This would be one of the first devices with A2DP which allows the use of stereo Bluetooth headsets. We have started an Atom forum here, so please fell free to post any information you come across while we wait to see when it will be on the market.
