Are you monitoring your GPRS usage?

If you've checked your data plan, you've surely noticed that you could easily spend a boat load of money with your carrier if you don't monitor your GPRS usage. In the case of the Pocket PC Phone Edition, you benefit from great competition between two fine products. Visit the pdaPhoneHome FAQ - How do I monitor my GPRS usage? and tell us if you are using one of these products. How do you like it?

PDAgold has just published a great review on the All-Locations product that you can read HERE. Here is their conclusion...

"This is a must-have application for everyone surfing the internet using GPRS. Traffic counter summarizes the data into easy, understandable information. This is one of few programs for Pocket PC that really will save you money. Traffic Counter gets 4½ PDAGold stars."

PDAgold also publised a great review in October of the Spb GPRS Monitor that you can read HERE.

Personally, I think they are both fine products. My only complaint with All-Locations is that they have a difficult registration process that is kind of annoying. The Sbp product can be found easily from the banner add at bottom of the page. You can download trial versions of both from the FAQ page.

there is a serious flaw with the current version of all-locations gprs monitor software while installed on PPCPE devices (SX56 users have reported this). With this app installed, there are times that the icons in the program folder will disappear. Once the app is uninstalled the issue goes away. The issue has already been reported to all-locations and they are investigating. It seems to be a memory leak of some sort but I have not been able to prove 100% that it's a leak. We have been able to prove that it's the software causing the issue.
