Convergent

The market for pdaPhones keeps getting more and more interesting, at least in terms of what we are shown. It would be nice if we got to buy a lot more of the ones that we see in reference design. LG has shown...

Thanks.. I thought it was already out in Korea. Well, who knows when or if the US will ever get one!!! I wouldnt mind buying one that is a Korea version if I can convert it to the english wm2003 and if I could get it to work with a CDMA carrier here in the US. Do you have any idea if this is possible with this PdaPhone? Thanks...

P.S. If you get one, would you let me know if it is as good as it seems?

Bit expensive for my taste but I would consider paying a $1000, mind you I am in the UK, I wonder if the US one would work in the UK?

Celluloco has been playing that game for a while now. To my knowledge, LG SC8000 is already released and is locked to a Korean cell company. Cant buy it without signing a contract with the cell company in Korea. I am now waiting on the HP h6300 or Motorola MPX. I am giving up on this one here....

What the heck is up with that price @ Celluloco? SC8000 (released in April here, as was expected) costs KRW 895000, which is around US$750. They have it up for precisely TWICE the actual cost.

Also, this phone is not GSM, nor is it tri-band. SC8000 is a single-band CDMA 800MHz model. LC8000 and KC8000 are available as single-band CDMA 1800MHz models. Oh, yeah, it weighs more than 2.0 pounds, that's for sure.

On a side note, '192MB storage' isn't exactly mind-blowing for PPC PDA Phones available in Korea. Using the same calculation, MITs-M400 has 256MB and CP-X301 has 224MB. The slide-phone design is also copied from CP-X301, although admittedly they have a better implementation of it, LG being a manufacturer of regular cellphones as well.

Celluloco has been advertising the LG since the end of last year saying it will be available - and then just make up a date it will be! I talked with them on the phone and on their online chat and I told them it cant be GSM because its Korean and they said it is?? I think they just write whatever comes to mind to try and get people to give up their credit card numbers perhaps? Hey Wesley, I give up on the LG. I would really like to have it but it looks pretty impossible to use it over here in the states and the MPX is looking really good right now. How is the X301 doing. Is it honestly as good as it seems or not quite???

The X301 is quite good. It's got some software glitches, but they're pretty quick to address the known issues, and they're readying a big end-of-June update to the firmware (a regular update was last available on June 7th). Other than that, the hardware runs fast, call quality is better than expected (I hadn't thought highly of the carrier (KTF) for their quality), and it's got some incredible battery time. It lasts at least twice as long with the regular battery compared to M400 on a large battery. I'll be having some picture-fest as soon as the goddamn digital camera of mine comes back from the repair shop (been stuck in there for 3 months).

It sounds awesome! Any reviews you can give or anything out of the ordinary it can do would be great to know. A miracle could happen and maybe POZ will make one for the US! LOL.. Thanks..
