Manually:
Copy the contained .gif files to your devices /windows directory, overwriting the existing .gif files.

Automatically:
Download the free skin chooser from <a href="http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?catalog=1&jid=641X82937E298B5A8F5F9XA81CA494CA&productId=40963&authorId=149028§ionId=0&productType=2&siteId=1&platformId=2">Handango</a>.
Install this program (it comes with 7 free skins). It doesn't run very well from a Storage card so make sure you install it in the Main Memory.
Then copy your downloaded skins to the directory the Dialer Skin Chooser is in, there is a folder inside called skins. Make a new directory named the name of the skins (ie. Big Buttons) and then copy the .gif files into that directory.
If you want to have a preview of the skin, copy the .bmp into the same folder, make sure that it matches the same name as the folder its in + the .bmp extension. Note: It must be 8bpp and 80x107, see one of the other 7 skins that came with the program for reference.
Last. Launch the XDA Skin Chooser and select which skin you want and then press activate.

FYI, it will work fine from a card if you follow the instructions they give for doing so. It requires you to move the data files from the default location. The instructions are in the program directory on the PC after you install (\program files\activesync\xda skin chooser I think).

I just installed the XDA Skin Chooser on my MDA II, Mobile 2003, but I cannot get it to work. I previously downloaded from MS a software that resides on my PC and is supposed to provide a conversion fix for software 2002 configured for use on 2003.
Regardless this is my second attempt and still no luck. I see the skins under programs, but the program to use the skins is not there.
Any suggestions.

Just download the program to your PC, plug your pda in your cradle with activesync on, run the exe..and thats it..you open up the program and choose from 7 different one..

It worked the first time for me...

I have an ETEN x500+. Upon looking in the Windows directory on the device, all the skins are ending in the extention, ".png" I assume to use the new skins I am going to have to change all the file names to png correct? Or what? Or does it simply not work on this device?
