I pods are for kids. Iphones expose you to 4 times the radiation as anyother phone. I watch whole movies, V-cast, Thousands of CDS. And I can stay away from apple trash.

Wow.
- I'm sure that there are just a few adults that enjoy music and have an iPod to do so.
- Technically, I guess you could say that iPhones expose you to four times the radiation as any other phone, since four times zero is zero.
- Paying for any content, especially whole movies and television shows, on Verizon's VCast is just a bit expensive, not to mention very low quality.
- Apple trash? I'm no Apple fan boy at all - in fact, I use Windows. But a Palm user calling Apple "trash"? That's just funny.
- What's a "Misiter"?

Do you have a source for your comment on radiation? Otherwise, please don't throw out random comments as facts.
Please stay away from Apple trash. Enjoy your Palm and your Gateway PC. But please leave your closed mind at the door before you type something as baseless as this again.

I have been building custom PCs for over 10 years now. I have never owned a store bought computer. Now who is making baseless statements. Anytime you want to talk computers, im ready.
Sorry but we have more than 10 Palm based machines in the family.
I read the iPhone report when the phone came out. I will dig it out later today.

Congratulations on your PC skills and your Palm PDAs. But I don't see how any of this makes you an expert on cell phone radiation or personal entertainment devices. You are making genaralized statements about iPods and iPhones and certainly sound like an Apple hater... I read your other threads over in the Treo 650 forum, and it sounds like you are using your Treo for music and movies, etc. and that you are new to the Treo.
All I can say about your post here is that it was uncalled for and a direct attack on many users who happen to enjoy their iPods and iPhones. Just because you don't like them isn't a license to put down those who do.
If you want to come to PDAPhoneHome and get help or offer help to others, great. If this is some sort of ego thing, forget about it.

No ego here. I used Apple computers back in the 80's. Then PCs took over. thats aother subject.
yes I am new to the treo. got it for free when my father got the new 755p. But having used Palms for years, it was easy to move over data, games, music, movies etc. It has this thing called a sd card slot.
I go with what has features I will use. How good is the video the iPhone records?
how good is the MMS on it?
what mp3 songs do you use for ringtones?
does it have many good 3rd party apps?
SD cards are dirt cheap and fast when watching movies.
I made no personal attacks. If you think I did, I am sorry I hurt your feelings.
There are thousands of mp3 players that do what ipods do for way less money. That is a statement of fact, not a personal attack.
I have friends that have iPhones, and that is where my view of them comes from. the screens break easy. I like pulling off a screen protector and putting a new one on. beats buying a new phone.
My reason for coming here is to mod a 3.5 audio jack into the ant of the 650. and to remove some apps I dont need. it was simple. Block me, delete my account, do what makes you happy.

I apologize that my sarcasm came through the way that it did. However, I simply disagree with your opinion that "ipods are for kids" and that you stated that " iPhones expose you to 4 times the radiation as any other phone" which is simply not true. The FCC has very strict limits on how much radiation cell phones can and cannot generate, and the iPhone falls well within the acceptable limits especially compared to some other PDAPhones.

The iPhone doesn't have an SD slot, but it doesn't need one, as 8GB/16GB is plenty for me... the largest SD card is 4GB right now and the extra memory can't always even be read by many older PDAPhones. When I owned a Treo/Windows Mobile device, I hated having to swap out the memory cards to either listen to music or look at photos or use an app stored on one particular card.

While you are right about the total lack of MMS support on the iPhone, it isn't a deal breaker for me since I wouldn't use it anyway, and the same goes for video capture. Yes, the Treo can do those things, so go with what works for you. I can use MP3s for my ringtones and can use third party apps as well.
Anyway, I am happy that you like your Treo. It works for you.

If you said that in the first place, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But don't tell me that iPods and iPhones are for kids. That is NOT a fact, but an opinion.

I have a screen protector on my iPhone for exactly the same reason.

There is this thing called a 2.5 to 3.5 stereo adapter available at Radio Shack and most electronics stores, which is what I would use unless the 2.5 jack is trashed. However, a quick Google search found this:
Treo 650 Tips, Tricks and Hacks: Treo 650 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm Audio Jack Swap

I would much rather help you find what you need and hope that you can help someone else when they have a question. I'm glad you are so enthusiastic about your PDAPhone (that's why we are all here) and would rather see you participate in a much more knowledgable way, given your experience. Pay it forward...

Sorry about the ipods are for kids, it was tongue and cheek. I just don't know anyone over 18 that has one. I use either my zire71 or my treo650 as a mp3 player. With the cost of the iPhone, I figured you would know I meant the ipod and not the | | | |
