I'm pretty happy with Verizon. I get service down in basements and others don't. I hardly ever see "no service" unlike other carriers.

Maybe be a little more expensive, but it's well worth it.

I'm currently waiting for the i760 from Verizon and I know i'll be happy once it comes out.

Gotta have patience sometimes.

The only people who say Verizon has "excellent customer service" are likely Verizon reps.

I've found them to be not only stupid, but totally clueless about their company -- may as well speak to a wall. I also spent three months trying to clear up a billing problem that a rep caused by not understanding the system -- he had been employed for over seven years.

I've been told that Verizon used to pay well, but stopped; so the only people now left are the minimum-wagers. It sure shows.

I've now moved 4 lines from Verizon to AT&T, just visited Europe. Everything worked fine. Had an issue when I came back with an air card, but support was great. I glad I switched.

Wink Half Jump!!

Yep! I had 4 phones on Vzn. I moved 2 to AT&T (mine & my wife's) and left the other 2 (my kids) on Vzn.

I wanted to buy and use the "sexy phones" they get in the UK. Since moving to AT&T, I've owned the HTC Touch, ETEN X500+ and now the TyTN II (Kaiser/8925)! I kept my options open to jump back to Vzn since occasionally, they do get some pretty "sexy phones"...the Samsung i760 is NOT one of them!

OK...admittedly, by the time Super Dave and MRAILING finish with it, it probably will be !!

Still, NO REGRETS!

I finally gave up today! We found out that my wifes company has a Sprint discount and that sealed the deal. I was able to talk my way out of my contract and VZW pro rated my wifes to a $90 ETF. We'll make that up in less than 3 months due to Sprints lower cost. I got a Mogul and she replaced her old E815 with a 755P. I waited for months for the 6800 or i760 to drop, but my patience wore thin. I'm now officially OUT.

UPDATE - I have to say I never truly knew what customer service was until I switched to Alltel. I'm used to hostage negotation like tactics with VZW Customer Service so when my phone wasn't working I stormed into the Store and demanded to speak to a manger. They said "Whats your problem Sir" and I said "This phones a piece of ...... " they said "No problem, what would you like to do to resolve this" and I told them I wanted a different phone. No problem... Walked out with a new phone that same day, no games, no "Let me talk to my supervisor" or we'll mail you a phone you don't want and you still have to pay for it. Didn't even have to extend my contract. Thats service! Even when I move back to NY a non-Alltel service area, I will keep their service because its that good.

Posting from my new Mogul, all I can say is THANK YOU Verizon! If you had released the i760 or 6800 in anything close to reasonable a time frame I might not have found that I could save soooo much $$$ and get faster data to boot. Good luck with all the chocolate.

The problem most people have with Verizon is they cripple features in their handsets. I saw the website advertisement Verizon made to advertise the Blackberry 8830 and GPS was an advertised feature. I bought mine the day it came out and the GPS was crippled. Since Sprint is selling theirs for $200 I'm considering moving there. I don't usually use customer support so as long as the coverage is fine then I'm fine.

I would most likely switch if I could. We have AT&T towers in our area, but only a couple. We have tested the signal, and it's in no where near all the areas Verizon's towers cover, so I'm really stuck with the big V. Not that I mind, because Verizon's network is very solid, and I've never been disappointed with their network quality. I am, however, just downright disgusted with their limited release of phones. I, like many of you, love playing with the latest technology. Verizon is by FAR the worst for releasing phones. I would love to try the i760, the 5800, the 6800, the new Treos, but I know it will be a long time before I can get them. It's ridiculous. Oh well, just thought I would tell you my feelings, even though I don't really have any choices!

Bill

The longer it takes the harder it is to say I'm sticking with them.
