I was thinking that maybe once the 5 best skins are chosen, since most of the Skins here were done by digiBoy, he can retouch them and finish them up, really nice. Before going to the compiler, so In that way they will look even better of what they look now,.......that is, of course, if he is willing to do it....
I just realized...I had 2 votes come from my IP address. My mother visited for the weekend and was unaware of the contest. She's been a member for a couple of months now though, so now that I think about it, I'm sure Brooks can filter those out. I don't want to speculate about which ones are suspect. I'd kinda like the water drop were it a bit clearer and easier to make out.

Dude, your guess is as good as mine. I made that as a test, and submitted it just to see if it was interesting to anyone. REGARDING VOTES-I voted once here for it at work, and maybe it got one more vote from this IP range (we are behind a proxy/NAT) if a co-worker of mine maybe voted. Other than that apparently most people did like it.
My guess is that people want more subtle and abstract designs for their graffiti area, ones that aren't quite as obtrusive as a big image of a cartoon character. Out of all the ones DigiBoy made (which I think are well done), the Bruce Lee one is most popular, I think due to the limited palette which makes it much more subtle.
Part of the other problem might be in that there might have been just too many choices...
I agree with you Pat. I'd like to have a simple clean image as the design you created. Brooks indicated that some had voted that were brand new members and had never voted before. That is suspicious. The Bruce Lee is pretty cool as well. I was kinda hoping the burberry plaid would place but oh well.
I have to wonder if this deserves any further discussion. I as well as many other members here surely are NAT'd behind firewalls, etc. and have told co-workers, friends, whatever about this. It is too cool not to spread the word. And I am sure some of them voted, but will probably never post. I also see that there are 97 votes, but 659 members. So not every member posts, or votes (only 15% of members here).
eventually JAKE will make an option available for those with some coding skills, and there will be a skin explosion (I can personally guarantee more graphics). voting will be erroneous. I know I was anxious too at first, but now we all just need to be patient, and wait for the good thing...
actually it does and doesn't warrant further discussion......
it's does because it's VERY obvious on my end...... I know all about NAT, firewalls, etc.. etc... its not that hard to figure out..... and as I said, I'm not going to out anyone.....
it doesn't, because I really don't have time to deal with it........
if one of the moderators has time to go through the system and discount the votes from people who registered after the poll started, thats fine....
I'm waiting for the "DigiBoy Collection" to come out. Not to say a word against anyone else's but his work _slays_ and I'd like to have them all. (My wife fell over laughing when I enabled the Hello Kitty one and showed her).
Kudos to Jake for revising the hack to use an independent skin database -- and of course for everything else.
