Crazy GPS Questeion

Ok so I know the phone has a GPS locator in it but I believe that it is using towers to get a very general position.

Now from what I have heard these are not able to be used for any sort of personal navigation. Most people are using bluetooth GPS devices but how about this.......

Earthmate GPS

Could it then be hooked into the Mini USB port on the 6700? Would it be recognizable to any software packages?

Just a crazy idea and I am thinking about trying it just for kicks.

not sure about the earthmate GPS with USB but i also heard that the 911 locator service uses the cell towers to get a generalized location.

I think Mapopolis on the 6700 is better than Street Atlas Plus 2006 on my Tablet PC. Seriously--it's a fantastic program. I started a thread about it a few days ago.

Click on Assisted GPS overview from the right hand column to get a idea of how gpsone actually works.
