The $800+ is approximately my last month's bill, this month's bill with my 3rd line, & the price of the 6700. The -$500 is the price of the 6700 - last month's bill. As for usage and what not, I stated above that I am on the grandfathered plan. I have used DUN to my laptop 2 times, once to make sure it worked - just brought up google.com i believe, and the other time was this past weekend, in a new billing cycle.
I will be really suprised if I am getting charged by the kb. Like I said above, the charges ad up to normal charges, I just am getting overcharged for items. I have a credit card linked to my Sprint account and my monthly bill goes on there, since the 6700 wasn't charged to my account for at least 10 days or so, the monthly credit card was never charged last month's bill. Other items which make my account an abnormal candidate for your conspiracy theory is that my 2year agreement was basically signed in the middle of my billing cycle as well as a couple days after my 6700 came, I added a 3rd line to my account and there was confusion as to which type of service that line was as they dont have the grandfathered 2000 anytime plans anymore.
If anything, I would guess that with the new phone and this phone, there are some billing issues and confusion on sprints part as to what was already paid for and what needs to go where.
Like I have said multiple times before, when my invoice is available, I will know more. I am not going to call and waste my time until I have a true, visual reason to call.
The conspiracy theorists are going to hate me.. but I finally spoke with sprint about my bill. As I assumed, I was double-billed for the 6700 (as my first order was canceled in shippings). No extra data charges (I am on the grandfathered, free Vision). Sorry.
Originally posted by Shadowmite Nope, sprint has no way to determine the difference between evdo and 1xrtt, data is data. They are implementing changes that will allow them to determine if people are tethering, and tethering users WILL be charged more. However it's still debatable if the 6700 will ever have that ability added to it. Mainly, new phones will not be a good idea to use by tethering people (this is in the works!).
I got my bill cycle completed on the 27th, no extra charges (though they did finally charge me for shipping and tax which they did not do when I ordered it!).
Actually, in data provisioning there is a separate entry for your HDR (EV-DO) login credentials, and it's tied to your ESN. They can flip a switch at any point, my friend.
