i recently bought my first pdaphone, the i500. i initially wanted to upgrade to something with GPS capability, but ultimately, i decided to keep things simple (and oh so compact
i must say, i'm very happy i found this forum. you guys really have a passion for this device. and because i'm finding the documetation from sprint and samsung pretty poor for anything but the most basic features, this forum is that much more valuable.
anyway, without gps, i'm left to find a good web based solution that i can use through my current browser (blazer). i'd prefer an application that could integrate with the addressbook for lookups and saving directions, but i've currently only tried one of these, and i'm not happy with it.
Express Maps
http://express.handmark.com/maps.php: not a bad interface, but directions seem to be based on old maps. a freeway near my house that was built a few years ago is not present in these maps.
http://maps.google.com - great for desktop browser, but doesn't work with blazer, requires javascript
http://maps.yahoo.com/dd/ - what i'm currently using, though disappointed that 'my locations' feature does not work because it requires javascript.
http://www.mapquest.com/ - seems as good as yahoo, i haven't used it much.
i'd like to hear your experience with various mapping/directions solutions.
i'll try to add more solutions to the poll as they are posted.
