The I300 is already teetering dangerously close to maximum capacity of what I would carry around with me. Add a keyboard, and it would tilt the scales.
"Da heck d'ya mean" If you view this device as being on the verge of too large to carry around, what influenced your purchase? I have carried Palms with a mobile in the field and this device doesn't come close to the burden of lugging 2 gadgets around. Can you imagine using "the brick" aka 6035? People seem to think that when we are requesting a keyboard that we intend to carry it with us everywhere we go; even if its to run out for a gallon of milk. Not so. In the event that I would like to write at length on my I300, the convenience of using a full size keyboard would certainly please me. It seems that those who would be happy with the thumb size or even flip up don't see themselves as typing at length, contrary to us who do.
I have several Targus folding keyboards for Visors and Palms and what I can tell you from experience is that when people become comfortable with Graffiti, they STOP using the keyboards. I can write much fast than the keyboards will accept typing (at least I that is my experience on a Visor Prism).
My sales staff has simply abandoned their keyboards and we no longer provide them at all. If a little effort is made to learn Graffiti the keyboard in a useless device.
THAT SAID, IF THE INSTALLED CAR KIT had a built in mini keyboard that might be very handy, and a mini printer would be nice too! It would allow printing of FAXs and memos But that is a whole different set of topics.
a printer is already out tht will work on the i300..
and graffiti is ook.. i know it very well, but it does not beat a keyboard....i could type much faster and not get "graffiti fatigue" :p !
Agreed Marc. See this is what I don't understand. Why is it assumed that we aren't graffiti proficient simply because we'd like a keyboard. Come on. What sense does that make. As stated earlier in this thread, I write quite a bit. If I find an accessory useful, that thousands of others have found useful.... help me find the harm in that friend.
Marcs right. I believe Printboy is the app on the market that consists of software and hardware. Not sure about the latter.
If you don't need a keyboard, that's fine. Please don't make assumptions about our inability to master the laborious, monstrous graffiti.
