...if we are seeing such varried battery life due to inconsistant phone settings
...or due to battery quality issues
...or due to drastic ussage differances
...or due to alpha particles flipping battery bits due to sun spots
Hrmmmm?
audio-whore
I'll pick choice "E"... choices "A" and "C"
Don't forget... signal strength is also a big factor. It wasn't noticable with the 6035 because that battery could last forever. I find with my Treo (similar battery life to the 7135) that because I have poor reception at my desk my battery is sometimes dead before I even leave work. But it's not because of the battery really... it's because it's always trying to find a signal. I would think the 7135 suffers in similar ways when in poor coverage.
But I think the biggest factor is the user's settings.....

I wouldn't mind a "fat battery" for the 7135...Being that I have a 3035 with one, it wouldn't be much of a difference, but my only concern would be charging...all the 3035 accessories (the desktop charger, the cradle for the installed carkit) accomodate the fat battery, but the 7135's cradle doesn't.

I remember reading (here on SPS) that Kyocera was supposedly working on extended batteries for the 7135... but nothing that has been substantiated (that I'm aware of).

Given the "burnout" that my phone recently suffered, I think I'd change my vote to "no" here. The power controller stuff in this phone seems marginal at best already. Adding a battery with double the WH capacity and probably close to half the ESR (those two tending to go together) is not something I'd be willing to try.
Battery longevity is not a serious issue with me. I use the PDA more than the phone and have purchased a backup battery for times when I need more power. It fits nicely in my computer case which goes where I go.
