Chip manufacturers apparently don't like to return calls when asked about their products.
I'll have more time available next week to get someone on the line.
The cradle market would be much smaller, in my opinion, so what I could probably offer is a replacement of the insides of your standard cradle without incurring the expense of manufacturing one. Just a thought.

If I'll figure out a way to make it work both ways, and I do have a Headset reference spec already, I'll figure out how to please the earliest adopters.
I am most interested in your #3 setup - tungsten+headset+phone simulateously.....that setup would be the best! (i think)
I have two recommendations,first, the addition of a "handsfree bluetooth profile" rather than a headset profile - handsfree is a little more useful, contains more options and such.
secondly, allow the use of a charger while the bluetooth adaptor is connected to the phone
all in all I think this is a great idea, however, I am sure you know that timing can be essential, I hope you are able to create the adaptor - if you beat the sony t606 to release you have a customer (I will buy a dumb kyo phone+ adaptor)
If you read the FCC testing docs, you can see internal pics where the bluetooth chip is missing, and they have no SAR data for bluetooth either. For a comparison look at the FCC docs for the t608 handset (GSM), which will have bluetooth. Verizon is trying really hard to keep bluetooth phones out of our hands!

Well, I'm not purporting to have the definitive answer on this one. But.....
In the 7135 group, scout706 posted a BMP image of what is supposed to be the 1st and 2nd Quarter 2003 roadmap for Verizon. In it, it says that the T606 is to have its rollout in May, 2003. But the REALLY interesting thing the roadmap states underneath the picture of the T606 is "Integrated Bluetooth". Now this isn't a product advertisement (unless of course the document is a fake, but I have to reason to think that) but it is an internal Verizon document.
Plus, when you go and look through the FCC documentation, three things are noticable:
1] There is a reference to the the term bluetooth in the Preliminary User's Guide on the FCC website (but only one);
2] The link to the schematics shows that page 13 concerns bluetooth and;
3] The letter that Sony Ericsson sends to the FCC specifically states that they are requesting confidentiality on four exhibits in order to "protect Sony Ericsson's proprietary techniques."
Now, does this mean it WILL have bluetooth? No, not really. But I think it's an indication that maybe not all the info is out on this phone.
If that BMP that scout706 posted is real and they didn't make a very bad typo, then there's going to be a world of change come May on Verizon (or perhaps later if things get delayed as they so often do).
I even checked with Rich Brome, who runs Phonescoop.com about this and he said that there is conflicting information on the phone, but that he still believes that it will not have bluetooth because the actual grant from the FCC does not address the Bluetooth frequencies. Good point.
In the end, who knows? But it makes for some interesting conversation, doesn't it?
It's ironic that this thread was started by someone with a hybrid. The 2004 Toyota Prius is another hybrid (gas-electric) car. Among the features its fully-loaded version contains is the ability to use Bluetooth phones over the speakers and a microphone in the automobile cabin. See Toyota's Website for details.
So you could say the car is the headset. As a 7135 user with Verizon, I never thought Bluetooth was in my future, but this add-on would interest me. I realize a lot of time has passed with no progress to report, but the cars are not shipping quickly either. Toyota is making the Prius as quickly as it can, but I am still on a 12-month waiting list.
It's me with the Prius again. I got off a long waiting list and bought the Prius (after a 3-week wait) in September 004. That's 6,000 miles ago, and the 7135 in the cupholder is all the hands-free I need.
Then today (after Chicago mandated hands-free phone use by drivers of moving cars by July 2005) I saw an adapter for "many phones without Bluetooth."
A PDF file is also available for detailed operating features. The manufacturer claims it will plug into your phone (requires occasional charging of the adapter's rechargeable battery) and make it work with a Bluetooth headset, but no mention is made of hands-free car kits such as the Prius would equal.
To clarify, Cardo sells an Allways headset that works with the adapter, but it is not required.
Another model by Step Communications requires the adapter to be purchased with the headset. It is the Step 1150 with the BTA-1 adapter.
