Thanks Hotsync, good idea. I called a local store, knowing that they didn't have the 7135 in yet, but asked in general about credit plans for high end phones. She said, "Well, the only high end phone we sell is the Kyocera 7135 and we don't have it in stock yet, so we have to order it from the factory." I said "You sell the Thera and it is about the same price." She said "True, but nobody is buying any because everybody is waiting for the 7135."
But, after dancing around for a while, she said they used to have monthly credit plans available, but they don't do it anymore.

lol... nobody has been buying the Thera the entire time it has been out... because it sucks! :p
Did you ask if you could at least have it charged to your account and not have to pay for it until that bill is due?

No, I didn't. It wouldn't really help me much.
Don't get my wrong, I have boatloads of credit. I have enough credit to hang myself multiple times. In fact, that is the problem. Our current goal is to reduce our consumer debt and student loans.
I just thought it would be an easier sell to 'the boss' (my wife) if I was paying for it on the wireless bill than directly to mastercard. And, before you ask, I *do* wear the pants in the family. She just picks them out for me each morning. :p

Several years ago there was a pay per month over the length of the contract program, however it caused more problems than it was successful.
Situations occured where the user's would want to upgrade the phone before the alotted time period was up and they were hit a lump sum payment for rest of money owed on the phone. This also occured with people who broke their phones and needed to purchase a replacement.... etc....
In the end it just turned out to be such an operational headache that they ended the program.
The only accounts that are allowed to bill the phone to account are corporate liability or government liability.

I had mine charged to my wireless bill, it was a lump sum, but the Verizon rep didn't even ask for a CC number, he just said my next phone bill is going to be a whopper! Good luck with the boss!
