the Portable Hand's Free Car Kit says that it neds Professional Installation. The Kyocera Site makes no mention of Professional Installation. They state I am just trying to cover my bases before getting my accessories and phone

There is no need for that. I think they made a error on there website. There are three easy steps. Insert the microphone into the jack on the top of the car kit. Depress the latch on the bottom of the car kit and insert the ball on the end of the power adapter into the car kit cavity. Than insert directly into cigarette lighter socket. Plug the car kit coil cord into the bottom of your phone. Your phone turns on automatically.
Total install time. 1-2 minutes.

How is the Car kit? Is it worth it? Is it the same thing as the Kyocera with the headphone installed?

It is definatly louder than the speakerphone and of course it charges the phone as well. The quality doesn't improve, Just gets louder.

As a test While using the Car kit, I connected my unit directly to my Car stereo via a cable and one of CoolCat's adapters and it took over control the sound ouput and I got MUCH better sound, as expected. The MP3 player sounded better than my radio or CD's!

I still find it more convienent to use a headphone mic so I can just hope out of the car and not interupt my call, although most times I find the car kit does the job just fine.
