Here's hoping that the 7135 is out this month, so I can use it to notify the family and send the first pics!

Maybe I missed it, but was it a boy or girl coolcat?

Wow! Sounds like the next newsflash will be "Kyo 7135 causes pregnancy. It's not something in the water - it's something in the phone!" hahaha

Gender
Yeah, Coolcat, we want details! Gender, weight, b-day, etc.!
My update:
I have a comprehensive ultrasound scheduled for April 11th. That's when we'll find out if ours is a boy or a girl! I'm psyched. I'm going to go shopping afterward (to start buying pink?/blue? outfits). And I get to start hassling my husband about names.... (evil laugh :p We were waiting 'til we knew the gender so that we could eliminate half of the name book...)

I think that the new 8235 has an ultrasound built in!
Good luck!

Wow, how cool is this board? We've even got a parenting thread.
Maritza, I think you'll find you get lots of advice when you're expecting; some good, some not so good, and no way to tell the difference. So...take it all in and see what works for you. My kids are a little bit older now, but I recall way too many sleepless nights driving the shore roads in the wee hours because someone was unable to sleep...which brings me to the only advice absolutely, positively guaranteed to be 100% good: SLEEP NOW.
Seriously, congratulations. Nothing on this planet will bring you as much joy as your children.
P.S. Dr. Seuss is still awesome for teaching a love of reading. Just my .02.
PPS - Jazz - glad things are okay. Our daughter (29 weeks, 3lbs) spent 7 weeks in the NICU - scariest time of my life. Then Early Intervention and all that follow up, so I know a bit of what you've gone through...best wishes, really.

Ahh, a fellow smartphone loving preemie parent? How old is your daughter now? Mine is 4 (and a half, she'll tell you).
We were quite lucky and did not have to use EI services, but we're still going through a lot of follow up with her in different areas.

She's 7 - and perfectly perfect, if being a brat can count as perfect. EI came and went and follow-ups with pediatric ( (fill in the blank)s are just a memory.
And, like her dad and her brother, she's a gadget freak, too.
BTW, in a pinch, DiddleBug can keep a fidgety kid occupied for a bit...so, you see, having a smartphone is actually a necessity for any parent.
I'm working on an argument in support of a plasma HDTV...

TVs
:topic-off
Personally, I'm lusting for a flat panel TV! I can't wait for the day I can hang my TV on a wall. My dream is to also be able to use it as a monitor and surf the web from my sofa with a wireless keyboard.
Actually, I heard on some sort of consumer-advocate TV show that plasma wears out in 8 years, and it's better to get LCD... you can save $$ by getting one that is "HD-ready" (instead of HD-built-in-already), they said.
Sigh, I just need to get rich now! (Or wait for prices to come down...)

Hello everybody!
Well, Maritza emailed me a little while ago urging me to post an update, so here I am!
Jocelyn Elizabeth was born on January 26th. She was 7lbs. 13ozs. and 20" long. She's now almost 14 lbs. and 24" at 10 weeks old.
We just had her 2 month check up. She does NOT like getting shots! She hasn't cried that hard since she was born! Nearly broke my heart!:bawling
The Doc says she's 90/97 percentile and she's doing great! A little flat spot on the back of her head, but we're working on keeping her off her back more to let it round out.
She's such a good little baby! She's very content and happy. We can almost always get her to smile and laugh! Its so cute! She started sleeping all night after about a week and a half. Lately she's been staying up watching TV while her mom and I go to bed! One of us usually gets up to turn the TV off after she's zonked. She's so cute, she'll just sit there watching TV, its like she's absorbed by the story! Very funny. (its actually the flashing and moving light that she likes, but still, she's so cute!)
We had quite an experience finding a car seat to fit my car. I've got a Honda Insight, which is a two seater. Since it has airbags I can't just put any old car seat into it or it wouldn't be safe. After getting the runaround for a couple weeks trying to have an airbag kill switch installed I stumbled upon a car seat called the "Pioneered" by a company called XSCi. This car seat was designed specifically for the front seat of cars with airbags. It deflects and absorbs the impact of an airbag, protecting the baby from it. They list for over $200, but I found a used one on eBay and got it for $100 plus shipping. Its so big it almost doesn't fit on the seat (it touches the dashboard in my little car) but it sure is nice knowing that she's safe riding with me. The company has been great too. I called them to ask about some replacement parts (fabric liner and rubber foot) and they just took my address and said they'd send them out to me! No charge! Neat-o!
I've been so busy lately that I haven't really gotten any pictures of her posted anywhere. I'll work on that and post back later.

I personally can vouch for the little Coolkitten's cuteness. When Coolcat and I met up at the Mall of America, he had her in tow. A wonderful little angel. Steve could also back me up on that one.
