Cool feature of the Jabra FreeSpeak! (for non-Bluetooth phones)
Hi All,
After registering my Jabra Freespeak on the web, I noticed a feature of the non-Bluetooth version that isn't included in the manual: the phone button on the headset can pick up, end or voice-dial calls.
I found it at: http://www.jabra.com/fscs/NBFreeSpea...dFeatures.html
I was just about to return my Freespeak to Verizon, when I discovered this feature, and found that it works like a charm on my v60i! Most phones that have a headset feature with a call button should work with this. I recently purchased the stereo headset for the 7135, so I expect the 7135 will also support this feature using the bluetooth converter.
Wow, cool. I'll check this out first thing tomorrow. I was wondering about that... you know when you've been in this industry for so long sometimes you think you know so much you don't have to read the manuals, but sometimes you do.
So in essence. The headset is in my ear, but I have it "off" or "standby mode" I guess (in an effort to conserve battery life) I hear my phone ring. I press my phone key on the headset. It activates (I near hear some noise) I then press it again and it will answer the phone.
Am I understanding this right? Part of my issues to date is that in order to conserve battery (only about two hours in "live" mode) which is where my 6035 is sitting in it's cradle, a call comes in, and I hear the voice in my ear asking me if I want to answer.
If I don't have it in "live" mode what happens is I hear my phone ring, I tap the phone button on the headset to activate it, but then I have to run over to the phone and press the answer key to answer the call since the little voice response system won't activate unless it's activated when the call comes in.
Actually, it wasn't in the manual. I stumbled across it online.
As far as the battery life goes, as I understand it, there's "live" mode, in which the audio from the phone is patched into the headset, "standby', where it checks in with the bluetooth base here and there, and 'off' where it's not doing anything.
I don't know how the Jabra will work on the 6035, but I'll try it out tonight on my fiancee's.
I didn't know that the 6035 will ask you if you want to answer the call -- that's really cool! But, in order for you to hear that, it would have to be a live connection. Hopefully if you put it in enhanced mode you won't have to keep it live all the time.
