Re: massaging your face...

[quote:d9511a6296="iBug"]actually, you might be surprised how nice one is.

soft massaging of the face with some gooey, feel good slime.
that'll be your chance at some soup, too. [/quote:d9511a6296]
LOL... I'm not knocking the benefits of the facial... but I think I'll wait until we are home and it's not me just being "one of the girls" . Oh, and believe me, there will be no "soup" served until we get home...

[quote:de0856c2fc="Robert K."]LOTR is also one of my all time favorites also, and I agree with everything you said about it (i.e. casting), and I could watch it for the New Zealand scenery alone... [/quote:de0856c2fc]
We seem to think alot alike (and not just our smartphone preferences).

I laughed a lot at your "soup" metaphore. Enjoy it while you can. Before you know it you'll be turning 60 like me and then, without you even realizing its happening, your hot tomato soup starts to look more and more like split pea...

Well, I am almost positive that this will be my last chance to post before we hit the road. As I should have expected I am getting attitude (because she's always hard to wake up) and resistance (because she hates leaving her parent's when we visit). So, unless I want to have a HUGE fight I'd better not be on here anytime when she can see me (she's in the shower... but almost done!).

So, I'd better cut this short or I'll be risking permanant injury and a very unpleasant start to the ride home! :eeek: Catch you all later :

For some reason, when I read this, I hear Willie Nelson in singing "On the Road Again" in the backgound. You folks have a safe trip, and watch out for all the speed traps, after all, you are still leaving one of the "redneck" states.

We're home

Finally! I only have a few minutes now because it's getting kinda late and I want to see LOTR. It's nice to be back in our own place! We like to watch our movies from out on the balcony under our party lights (hard to describle, but it enhances the "atmosphere")... and it's feeling pretty nice outside tonight (compared to how muggy and hot it was in AR).

Marc, the jacuzzi was sweet! That was the 3rd time we've gotten a room with a jacuzzi (twice in Gatlinburg... you had to have visited there when you lived in TN, right?). The crazy thing is that we only picked Gatlinburg the first time because it was almost right in the middle of MD and AR.... I had no idea it was such a HUGE tourist town. It looks like there is a lot of fun things to do there (I want to ride the lift up the mountain)... and even though we've been right there twice we still haven't done anything but sleep there. We are going to probably go back there in a month or two and spend a weekend. But we also want to go back to Atlantic City (where we met in person for the first time a little over a year ago... that's a crazy story), and we want to visit NY for the first time (neither of us has been there), and Las Vegas... but we'll fit Gatlinburg in there somewhere.

Ok, I'm pushing it here. Dena already is saying she doesn't want to watch LOTR (since it's so long and we have a lot to do tomorrow), so I don't want to give her any excuses!

I can't believe it's been a whole week since we left for AR... it seems like yesterday! I'm glad we got back tonight so we can have a couple days to unwind before going back to work. Thanks so much to everybody for helping me make it though a week in Arkansas! (actually, I had a great time... Dena has a really great family).

Back in the 70's my family was living in Birmingham, Alabama, and we made several trips to Gatlinburg. My wife and I were in to camping back then and we would often go camping in the Smoky Mountains. When we did that, we would always plan at least a one day trip into Gatlinburg to get a good meal and enjoy a little civilization. It is very touristy, but there are a lot of great restaurants there and plenty of entertainment.
