Who has played with Chrome

So who out there has downloaded and played with Google's new browser Chrome? I'm using it now and it seems very Firefox-ish. So far its quick and renders the pages well... Since I have a tendency to keep many tabs open and the browser open for days, I'll see how it treats my systems memory...

using it since yesterday. Seems to be quick in rendering pages, there are some sites it cannot render, but that could be due to the Beta version or possibly due to that web page designers coding. Seems to NOT use much memory, time will tell. I miss a real favorites bar and or a column. So far I like it.
update>>>>> I think I put my foot in my mouth!!!!! read my update post.

I briefly tired it out, but unless they add the ability to block ads (not likely from Google) I won't give up my Firefox and ad blocker plus plugin.

I was tempted by Opera because of the zoom functions, but Firefox 3 added that, and Chrome still just does text zoom, so another feature they would need in order to tempt me to switch.

I feel so left in the 20th Century. I'm still using IE on my work PC and Safari on my home Mac. Heck, even my wife uses Firefox on her Mac.

I "used & abused" it for about three days.........it crashed and burned on all my PC's (12 to be exact, three Vista boxes and the rest XP 64 bit boxes) I deleted it and went back to Deepnet Explorer. I looked around my garage for the left over cans of "Chrome-Shine" couldn't find them as that browser needs a lot of "shine" to make it survive the "ruthless web" .

it really slowed my system this morning, but overall for my basic needs, it seems nice. not really an upgrade from IE in my book. I can't "mark all forums read" on this site with it..... and you all know this is my favorite site!

Well I've been using it exclusively for the most part since its release...No crashes, some burps, its alright... definately a beta. with little nit-noids that need to be worked out. Somethings I like, some make me scratch my head... like it spell checks but doesn't offer any suggested words. You can split the tabs into their own windows, but I can't put them back together. I like the task manager, and the screen shots of recent sites on a new tab... I'm sure someone will make addin for FF that does that soon, I bet!
I wonder if someone at WebIS.. has called them about their icon?
As it is being developed as a platform for cloud computing I'm sure that's what its primary use will be until it gets as featured and secure as FF. Until the next beta, it goes in a box next to my other old browsers.... move over Neoplanet, you got company.
Mark

Thanks, and that doesn't work with some browsers, if I understand correctly?

Chrome just locked up on me. So I shut it down using the Task manager (PC). When I started it back it, it had a message below the toolbar that said something like "Google Chrome shut down improperly. Would you like to go back to where you were?" I clicked on that and it went back to both places I was (2 tabs open). Really nice!

I'm not surprised or impressed by that. Firefox has done that for a long time already.
