Replacing PPC6700

I need a new pdaphone to replace my 6700 - I have a pretty good idea of what I like, in order of importance:

1) One-handed usability - I want to be able to navigate completely and type one-handed
2) Speed - I hate slow browsing and waiting for apps to load, I'd really like some speed
3) Good screen res - I'd prefer a good screen res of 320x320
4) Ability to use it as a USB modem on sprint's service would be fantastic
5) I'm leaning towards winmobile since that's what I already have, but it's not a requirement, I have only 2-3 apps I really use and they're available for palmOS
6) Reliability - I'm fed up with crashes, I'd really like some stability, although I am also a fan of the latest/greatest

Suggestions? Thanks.

Cingular 8525 is the only phone out that is an upgrade currently. You could switch over to the Q. It doesn't have a touchscreen but if your not using a Pocket PC to it's fullest potential the Q would work. It doens't have all the features the 6700 has like wifi, tweaks, and a high level of customization. Oh and not as many programs for the Q/smartphone OS but it's growing. If I was you i'd wait for the i760 from sammy or the 6800 from HTC. Or you could get an sammy i730 which I think has better one handed support than the 6700 hundred and a faster processor.

Apologies for not doing this properly the first time:

1. What PDA and/or mobile phone do you use today?
PPC6700

2. Are you locked into a mobile carrier (i.e. Verizon Wireless, Sprint PCS, etc.), or do you prefer a particular carrier? Do you know if one carrier has better coverage in places that you need to be? (PLEASE SEE THE CARRIER NOTE BELOW)
Nope, currently on Sprint, will probably do SERO since it's cheap

3. Where are you based? Do you stay in one place or travel a lot? Do you travel internationally... how much and where? Do you intend to use your pdaPhone there?
Midwest, no or very rare international travel

4. Do have a preference of Palm, Pocket PC, Symbian, Smartphone OS, Blackberry, etc.?
Either PPC or Palm, so if I decide to run ePocrates & other medical software I can.

5. Are you likely to run it the way it came out of the box, or do you intend to load a whole lot of extra applications and stuff on it? Do you know of anything now that you will need to run?
Pretty much out of the box, just going to add SplashID, possibly a better browser if needed, that's about it.

6. How important is wireless data access, and for what would you use it? (i.e. Web browsing, VPN, Remote termnial Access, Instant messaging, etc)?
Very important, I use web browsing on the PDA extensively. Occasionally hook it up to my laptop for wireless access (not required though)

7. Will you need to view Microsoft Office documents on the pdaPhone? Will you need to edit them?
Nope

8. Will you need access to an email system?
a)Is it corporate (Exchange, Groupwise,Lotus, Other?) What Version? Do you want email wirelessly or do you want to do it in the office with a sync cable/cradle? Can you get your Corporate email configured for mobile access or do you need to run a desktop redirector?
b)Is it Pop3/Imap? Who is the service provider?
Just regular IMAP and pop accounts, not corporate.

9. Do you do SMS messaging a lot (telephone to telephone messaging)?
A little, not a lot.

10. Do you want to use a GPS with the pdaPhone for mapping and navigation?
Already have a standalone GPS.

11. What is your size preference.. very close to the smallest cellphone, or you don’t care.. function over size?
Not a big deal, I do like flatter-pocket friendly profiles but it's not a requirement.

12. How will you carry it... pocket, belt, purse, etc.?
Manbag (yeah yeah) or pocket

13. Do you prefer a particular form factor… flip-phone, candy bar, etc?
Don't care.

14. Do you prefer a QWERTY keyboard, numeric dial-pad, or stylus?
I like external keyboards, NOT the slide out ones - One handed operation = requirement.

15. Do you want to play a lot of video games on the pdaPhone? What kinds - puzzles, strategy, action adventure, etc.?
Never

16. Do you want to listen to music on the pdaPhone? What kind... mp3, streamed, etc.?
Never

17. Do you want a camera on the pdaPhone?
Sure, not a big deal though

18. Do you have any other hardware you intend to use with the pdaPhone? Do you intend to use any Bluetooth devices? What types of devices?
Bluetooth headsets, Plantronics Voyager 510 right now, its no problem to switch

19. What kind of battery life do you need?(Always near a charger, battery life is not an issue or Need the battery to last several days) How many hours do you expect to spend talking on the phone? How many hours of data?(Web browsing, push email, VPN, IM etc)
Not a big deal, as long as it's not significantly below avg.

20. What are your budget limits (pdaPhones range in price from below $100 for older used models to nearly $1000 for high end models without a carrier subisidy)?
<$500 preferably, though I'd consider more expensive ones too
