sick of my 6800, looking for a replacement, suggestions (Verizon)

Quick specs...
USed a 6700, loved it.
Use a 6800 now, like it.
On Verizon network, love it.

What I dont like about the 6800 is it jsut does odd things randomly that piss me off. Particularly, it is SLOOOOOOOOW.

Maybe its the phone, maybe its my apps, maybe its Windows Mobile ( I always default to M$ being the problem)

I bought it on ebay, with the GPS unlocked, which I like. I am sorry, I dont know how you guys feel, but if I outright buy a phone, that I own, and it has a GPS chip in it, it should be unlocked for me without having Verizons "Permission" or paying them...

Here are the apps and things I do on my 6800 that I MUST be able to us on a new phone... was reading about the Omnia ... would love aphone with a legitimate camera like its 5 megapixel one....

Anyway, the list, likely in order of how much I love them...

1) Work email, the exchange/outlook feature
2) Internet, mostly gmail, news, netflix queue updates, and facebook.
3) Use as an MP3 player via the SD cards.
4) BeyondPod app. I love this app. I may very well die or at least be hospitalized if I didnt have access to this application.
5) TomTom. I bought and installed it on my 6800, using the unlocked GPS chip. I dont pay Verizon a dime for this.
6) OCCATIONALLY I will compress a movie or TV show and slap it on my phone to watch it, but this is very rare.
7) Oh yeah, I use it as a phone too.
I love to take photos of events I am at. Not professional photos, just fun photos of family and friends. The 6800 camewra is pretty much useless to this, its shutter speed is about as fast as me trying to figure out the square root of any 4 digit number. So with my 2 year old son, getting a clear photo is pointless.
9) I use GoogleMaps occationally.

Speed is important. I hate to bring up the iphone, but those things are so fast and responcive... my 6800 is an embarassment. Way too slow.

Anyway, and thoughts or experience you guys have are appreciated in advance. Can you buy a phone from Verizon and be able to use the GPS chip out of the box or do you have to feel like a criminal and unlock it yourself?
