What PDA to purchase and is there a PDA for my needs.

Hi,
I am looking to fill a professional need to procure and organize trade/craft specific app's. I reviewed the outline for 'how to ask what PDA' and will answered all the questions. However, I am not looking for a PDA phone, PDA GPS, Internet PDA.

1. I don't currently use a PDA. Not looking for a PDA that doubles as a cell phone.

2. I currently use AT&T and not locked into a contract.

3. I travel within the US, generally staying at a job site from 6 months to two years.

4. I have no brand preferences.

5. The PDA will be used to run applications specific to construction trade/crafts. I would also like it to run generic app's such as a program designed to provide offsets and cut lenghts for pipe fitting. Another example is databases for rigging charts and formulas. Being able to load books on the PDA would be nice. However, I could download the books via another computer and transfer to the PDA. I do not require any connectivity other than computer to PDA.

6. Wireless capability is of no use.

7. MS Office applications such as Access databases, excell and word.

8. Email/internet access in not important.

9. Messaging of any sort is not important.

10. No GPS capability necessary.

11. Small size is nice but a functional and easy to use keyboard, Processor speed, and memory are more important than size. Although, I would want it to be far smaller than a laptop.

12. It would be carried in a backpack, carry bag.

13. Would prefer it to be non-flip, small enough to be help in one hand and operated with the other.

14. QWERTY keyboard is preferred.

15. No Video.

16. No Music.

17. No Camera.

18. Only interface would be with laptop or desktop computer.

I need a practical, strictly business, PDA for professional use only. It will be used as a tool not a toy and it will not double as anything or used for any purpose other than what I am purchasing it for.

Thanks

Jerry
