ive seen several threads on here with people asking what phone to get, etc.
and not one person has replied to the posts, which are over a month or so old!!
why is that? isnt that what this thread section is for, to get advice and help on choosing a pda phone?
alot of smart people are on here that knows the in's and out's of phones, and when someone asks what to get or whatever, i would think that at least ONE person would respond, but i see none....wtf?
I myself currently have the Treo 700W, mobile 5.0 (because i cant get mobile 6 to work on here) and have been considering getting the new treo 800w. Now ive heard mixed reviews about that phone, and even a store associate told me the 800w was no good, was full of bugs, blahh blahh...and said something about a newer version of the 800w comming out soon.
so anyone know anything about the 800w as far as bugs? or is this one of the many threads that wont get a response? and yes, i did read the other topics on this board about the phones, the 700w thread and the 800w, and no where does i say anything about the phone itself.
i thank you in advance, if and when, this post gets a response
ok never mind, got my own question answered.
DONT GET THE 800w!!!
not only did i have an in store employee tell me not to because of all the bugs with the phone, but just now on the phone, sprint, i was told the same thing by a supervisor. the 800w has severe issues and the replacement is called the Palm pre/Palm treo pro.
it was supposed to be released by now, but its pushed back towards the middle of the year im told. it will have win mobile 6.2, gps, all the gizmos and more that i cant remember.
guess ill be waiting
yea, i was thinking about that, but since the new Palm pro is on the way, i might as well wait.
plus, the touch pro looked flimsy in my opinion. wouldnt take much for the sliding keyboard to fall off.
you must not have used slide out based keyboards... the PROs keyboard is not flimsy at all. it is a business device targeted for the business user on the go. HTC have made quality devices and the PRO is such a device. Palm products are losing ground with blackberry and win mo devices picking up the market. the android is decent but still young and the iPhone is still not yet ready for primetime with ATTs slow network..
in any case, enjoy your purchase, but do understand the HTC PRO's keyboard is solid...
ok marctron, ill give it a second look.
maybe the one they had on display was just over abused or whatever. it worked and all, but when you flipped up the kb, it wiggled and moved all around.
but still, now that i now the treo pro is on the way, ill prolly still hold out
