XV6900 upgrade to 6.1

I ddin't see a seperate thread for the 6900 so I am asking here. Sorry in advance if I missed it.
I have a user with a 6900 on the Verizon network. He wants to goto 6.1. Does anyone know if this is out?? or does anyone have a release date.

Thanks
T.

VzW tech support pointed me to Personal Communications Devices for the update to 6.1. They said it was released a couple days ago. I downloaded it, installed it and it works fine on my wife's 6900. Hopefully this will fix the problem of the phone not waking up when someone calls, txts, etc.

Go to downloads, find the phone at the bottom, select Verizon Wireless and you're on your way. Did I mention this is only for Verizon customers?

Well, "Murphy's Law" seems to apply to me most often. My 6.1 upgrade to the 6900 went well as far as the install is concerned. But, the phone lost any and all authentication so I had the joy of getting it re-authenticated with the Verizon folks. Actually, that wasn't too bad, had a tech that got this done fairly simply by giving me a 26 digit authentication number to enter and my phone and data services are back.

I am feeling adventuresome, so, I will now try the GPSserver.cab and see if I can get the GPS working. Odds are in favor of something going wrong....
