Is there a Large .pst Contacts Synchronization Problem with all newer
Pocket PC's?
I just returned a
Treo 700W. I have 10,160 contacts in my Outlook running on Windows XP and the .PST size is 224,209kb (224 mg).
It took six hours to Synchronize and there was 62.95 mg Used in Storage Memory afterwards with only 3.97 Free in Program/System Memory.
It still did not bring all the contacts over and most of the contacts were un-readable or took forever to view.
Yet on my Samsung i830 and my old Audiovox 6600 XV Running Mobile Windows 4.0 all contacts synchronized in three minutes and used only 16 mg of Storage Ram and all contacts and information was always available and immediately accessible.
Has anybody tried to synchronize any
Pocket PC's with a large .Windows .pst file of 10,000 contacts or more?
I want to get a new
Pocket PC but will this also be a problem with all new
Pocket PC's because of the 6.0 Windows Mobile operating system? I tried to hard re-boot and disable the Mobile Voice feature but it still took 6 (six) hours and the contacts still would not work afterwards on the
Treo 700W.
I spoke to the techs at Verizon and
Palm they have no answers and have not tried a large .pst contacts Synchronization and they have no Idea what the problem is.
Is it because Windows 6.0 is reading all info in the Telephone function or just the problem with The
Palm/Treo/6700 Ram and 6.0 system issues creating a much larger contact database and not enough memory due to the new "Persistent" memory management system joined by the limitation of the Kornal software architecture?
Can any of the new
Pocket PC's handle this large .pst Synchronization? I would appreciate any input or answers. Thank you, Robert
