I will reply quickly to this because I swapped from the xv6800 to the xv6900 4 days ago. Even though I found the 6800 to be sluggish at times, I got rid of it for the bright color spot on the lower left part of the screen. I am glad I changed to the Touch. I think the main differences between the 2 phones is the 6800 has a real keyboard, wifi, less memory size and weight. The memory is what makes the Touch run so much smoother. It is peppy and the touch screen seems much more sensitive. The soft keyboard could be a problem for heavy typists but I am getting used to it. You can't beat the weight and size, and I find myself thinking I lost my phone half the time. Not a problem putting the Touch in your top pocket.
For me the swap has been a good one but if you can not get past the kb limitations the Touch might be for you. You may also want to look into the Blackberry Curve for heavy business use.
Also, google your question 6800 or 6900 and you will see the question has been asked many times before. Hope this helped.
