Patch features are said to include:
A new version (3.1c) of VersaMail with an updated Mail Service (ISP) list
Gmail attachment download support via the standard Blazer web browser
Bluetooth performance improvements for some Motorola headsets and other car kits
Voice quality enhancements
Better memory handling (when compared to version 1.15)
Auto-off power settings broken by the 1.15 patch are fixed
Audible beep indicates call initiation failures
Longer runtime by automatically turning off screen after 30 seconds of a call (power savings? YMMV, based on how you use it) To turn the display back on at any time, tap the screen.
Do not press the red Power/End button, unless you want to end the call. The screen-off feature applies to handset mode only, not speakerphone or headset modes.
All the fixes from version 1.15, plus revisions to Windows apps:
Documents To Go ver. 7.0.0.5
Handmark PocketExpress ver.1.3 r1254
Zap!2016 ver. 1059
and, a free serial-locked copy of SplashShopper (as if we all didn't already use
HandyShopper freeware, with its awesome
YahooGroups community...)
Your Intrepid Reporter will advise if the patch side effects are as hilarious as the fallout from version 1.15 was. But, so far, it ain't done blown up, no hair loss or bleeding gums, which is a significant improvement over 1.15.
