Reuters, the Wall Street Journal and MSNBC all report
SprintPCS and NEXTEL are talking merger.
NEXTEL, although insignificant so far in the PDA phone world, is the most profitable US cellular carrier, and would gain access to SPCS' customer base, who seem to have the hottest PDA phones.
NETXEL also brings to the table their Flarion OFDM system, which was such a succcess in their North Carolina pilot program that they brought it out of beta early and are offering DSL-grade bandwidth to mobile computers at a very reasonable price.
