Here, PalmOne's Prexy 'splains they're keeping their options open.

And, if they didn't go through the motions, IMHO, a stockholder lawsuit could accuse them of failure to perform due diligence.

palm os can only do so much..

as power users grow larger, they will want more computing power and be able to run many tasks at the same time.

the blackberry has competition on its heels and win os is starting to hurt palm ones purse a little..

wise decision imo..

Unless PalmOne changed their name, it would seem kind of paradoxical to be producing pda's that used some other OS. I know equipment is the purvue of PalmOne and software (including the Palm OS) is the purvue of PalmSource, but the name would be rather confusing.

Perhaps you should suggest to Ed Colligan (Pres. of PalmOne) that the company should change its name to Moo-lahOne

That's why they split the company. PalmOne is now just another licensee of the Palm software...
