OK, while I've been glued to the tube watching some great NCAA men's college hoop, a different "March Madness" has quietly been taking place over at CNet. They have developed an interesting way to vote for your favorite mobile phone. They are down to the finals and the two devices slugging it out are both pdaPhones - the Treo 600 and Motorola MPx200. There is still time to vote for your favorite, from these two. This is their fourth year of running this contest, and the first time that a pdaPhone is going to walk away with the crown.
But, I think we should have an all pdaPhone Sweet 16 here. Cast your vote in the pdaPhoneHome poll as well, for the best pdaPhone of April 2004! You can vote in our version of March Madness HERE.
And, if you want to toss a comment in about whether UConn or Georgia Tech will prevail... that's OK too.
I don't know... Big East vs. Atlantic Coast Conference... it's a tough one. My two favorite conferences. I have to go for Georgia Tech on this one. The head coach used to coach locally at Sienna, so got to go with the home boy. Truthfully, either of them could win it... the last two games were so close... I love March Madness!
Well, the Big East plowed through the game tonight... looks like our game is better than theres! The i700 was out to a huge lead, but the 7135 is starting to real it in... and the other devices are starting to wake up and get into the action... make sure to tell your fellow pdaPhoneHome members to join in and vote for their favorite device so we get a good sampling!
7135 & i700 -- you've got to be kidding. I'd bet good money that COMBINED they haven't sold as many of these two as either the i500 or Treo 600. I think Robert's right, 7135 and i700 users have more time to put down their phones and keep punching the vote button.

Over the evening, the 7135 team has pulled into a lead... Unlike Georgia Tech - UConn.... looks like this might be a contest yet.
I protest this vote!!! I am filing a case at the Supreme Court---- I think some of the voters had problems with their browsers being hi-jacked by Treo600 owners and all the 7135 voters intercepted the i700 votes!! touch screen- pads were defective!!!

I'm sure that we have to factor in how many people that participate here represent each kind of pdaPhone. Just going by the number of posts, the 7135 and i700 should be doing well. What's probably more surprising to me is the lack of response from the i500 camp. What kind of message are they sending when they won't even lift a finger in support of their pride and joy? They have talked a lot of trash... but now their silence speaks volumes
On the other hand, the Treo 600 is a big underdog (based on participation in these forums)... it would be a Villanova vs. Georgetown type of upset I'm not counting on the Treo catching up... but I do expect us to at least put up a fight.
my goodness, i can't kyocera jumped out like that overnight. i think price HAS to be an issue. if you weren't willing to shell out the mega bucks on an i700, then you really wouldn't know...naturally more people would own a 7135. but really, how could a 7135 compare to the great i700?? the funny thing is that i had waited patiently for the kyocera to come out so i could buy it and get away from tmobile, then god created the i700.
it is actually fun to see how many of us there are out there in the pda/phone world. it seems like my wife and i are the only pdaphone users in the world, at least until we go to an airport and see the businessmen and women using them.
CNET didn't even have the i700 in the pool, nor did the have the hitachi. Yet they had smartphones vs. palms...seems biased at least
Mike, please don't remind me of the game last night - I don't want to get depressed again . . .
I'm surprised the Treo hasn't done better so far as well. Course I voted for the Kyo!
And yeah bdubble, CNet does tend to be biased with stuff, and over the last few months I've been pretty disappointed by some of their coverage, particularly in the smartphone department. But hey, we have PDAPhoneHome.com!!

The 7135 has a very large and loyal following here, in case you hadn't noticed (and many of the people that own them paid over $700 for theirs, including me... although I now have a Treo 600).
The only people voting in this poll are members of this site, so the voting is going to fall in line with what the members here own (with a few exceptions perhaps).
rob is certainly on point. this is not a technical poll by any means of the imagination. the G had no chance of winning but form the votes above its known there are many more happy campers with the G than what this poll shows.
all of the pdaphones are winners! they are more of a value than a non smartphone. united we are strong!!
You gotta be kidding, the i700--a brick that is only a virtual phone ahead of the i500. It must be that they have no use for their instrument so they can take the time to vote.
