I know there are at least 4 or 5 people on here with i760's that are using it. As I work for Freedom I wont give you a review on it as you are hardly likely to accept it as being impartial

(I work for Freedom).
If you take a look at the link below this was a review that was done on these forums. Although it was used with a different device it basically works exactly the same for any device.

The thing to watch out for is that some i760's are bugged and when you pair the GPS unit you don't get the normal services listed. It still works but this can make life more difficult (unfortunately this is an issue with the i760 itself so it doesnt matter what model GPS you use).
With regards to the no software with the GPS there are good reasons for this. The first one is that the GPS unit works with anything that had bluetooth, supports SPP devices and can run compatible mapping software (thats pretty much every phone made in the last 2 years at least, PC's, Mac's, PPC's, UMPC's, etc, etc).
As such you would either need to supply software that works with everything (not going to happen unless you what you are selling is software and the GPS is just bolted on) or you supply for a small section of the market and then get people not buying it because the software included doesn't work on their phone.
The next reason is choice. There is a LOT of mapping/navigation software available and one piece of software is not right for everyone. Some people need mapping with voice prompts for driving long distances, others need very detailed mapping for hiking, etc so again if you include software you can not please everyone.
The other reason is that even if people do not want to buy GPS software most platforms have a lot of free mapping software available for download (google maps, yahoo2go, WLS just to name a few big ones).
Hopefully that explains the software side. I will let some independent people post their views on its performance but if you want to ask me any questions you can always drop me a PM.
