Bschucher, This is not the expected functionality. Annnouncements should be occuring over BT. What device and BT headset are you using?

For those of you not getting announcements over BT:

1. Is your sound on? My 6700 doesn't announce calls through the BT headset if the PDA volume is set to zero. Since I don't like loud ringers (ever), I set my phone ringer to vibrate (using the phone app...menu...options) and then I leave the PDA volume (the left slider) a few notches from the top. This lets me hear new-call announcements from my pocket, relatively quietly, with a vibrate, and other announcements come through BT at a nice volume level.

2. Do you have the notifications set to "bluetooth handsfree only" and if "only during free time" is selected, do you have events going on while you are testing?

Bluetooth audio routing does not work on the Treo 700 due to a hardware limitation.

Ok, that is a known issue. Caller ID over Bluetooth requires Windows Mobile 5 AKU3 or greater. Devices like the T-Mobile Dash support this currently.

Question 1.6 and 6700

i have a "6700 vzw" with "o rokr" bt stereo headset. i used the bt gateway hack button and the stereo music through "pocket player" latest version, worked great, no controls but the stereo sound was great. if i got a call it would automaticly interupt the music and i could answer the call. after the call i would push the talk button on the headset twice and the music would resume. i have now installed "voice command 1.6" and i can no longer play music on my head set. voice command works fine but it will not play music on the head set. i get music for a second when i push the talk button but then it activates voice command and cuts music out. i'v tried playing with the settings in "voice command" to no avail. does anyone out there ave any ideas how i might correct this problem
thanks all
peter

Take a look at this post:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/587618-post64.html

the btaudio.exe file when executed will open the audio gateway. You can either associate with a hardware button, or you can put it in your program files and use a voice command to execute it. (i.e. rename btaudio.exe to \windows\start menu\programs\bluetooth.exe) and then issue the voice command "open bluetooth"

i have used "voice command 1.6" all day and only had to say no to one dial request. i probably made 75 calls with it and one wrong that is great. with "1.5" it was more like out of 75 calls id have to cancel 72. and now that i can use the audio thanks to Xyzzy, live is now great
thank you again

How can we upgrade beyond 5.1.1?

I just downloaded the latest firmware from HTC and my phone is now WM 5.0 version 5.1.195 (Build 1487.2.0.0). Is there another update out there that can bring me to 5.1.3?

Also, I just updated my VC to 1.6 and I use my 6700 with a Pioneer Avic Z-1 in-dash GPS with Bluetooth phone option. I'll let you know if I notice any differences.

PPC6700 Button 5 broke

Guys with PPC6700,

Anyone else had an issue where...

After installing 1.6 and assigning it to Button 5 (not press-and-hold), the button functionality breaks and it now only executes whatever's assigned to press-and-hold?

I even hard reset my PPC6700 today, reinstalled VC1.6 and experiencing same behavior. Assigned VC to button 4 (not press-and-hold) and it's working fine, but button 5 is still "broken" ...

even found registry key where this is set and everything looks ok as far as i can tell...

uninstalled VC, reset and button 5 still misbehaving...

UPDATE: found this thread
