Oh is anyone else having issues with there Bluetooth headset in trying to recognize what you say? For example, when I use my Bluetooth headset to dial a number, it will have a hard time understanding what I am saying, but if I use the pda itself, there are no issues! I did notice that if I spoke louder, it would understand my voice better.
Depends on the number of contacts and media files that you have.
Assume roughly about 2.5MB of RAM + ~500KB of RAM per 1000 contacts + ~500KB of RAM per 500 songs
Well, I have a PPC6700. and I got screwed buying this!
1-Audio gateway is gone.
2-Announcements are not thru the BT headset.
ANY THOUGHTS?
Zizo72,
1) Take the attached program, unzip, copy the btaudio.exe file to your device and place it under \windows\start menu\programs
2) rename btaudio.exe to "audio gateway.exe"
3) Using your BT headest, execute the command "open audio gateway"
This should leave your audio gateway open.
It is important to understand that any subsequent Voice Command operation will close the audio gateway. If you want to listen to a media file for instance, you will have to do a two step approach in this order:
1) play <x>
2) open audio gateway
If you do it in reverse order, the play command will cause the audio gateway to close.
had the same trouble w/ handango, had to sign in, send email to c/s, then it worked. Was able to download. Can you get the bt headset to default to voice command? If so, how do you do this. Tried configuring all "buttons" on menu and when i hit the bt button, i still get the default voicer dialer; i want voice command! Do i have to do the reg hack to make the bt default to voice command? Help!
Interesting little utility but the exact opposite of what I would like. This utility seems to turn on the BT such that the voice tag program comes up to prompt you for a voice tag.
The problem that I am having is losing connectivity to BT when I am listening to music. So I'm listening to music and if I hit the phone button on the BT headset to handle a call or attempt a voice tag that works. But now BT is disabled and I cannot get back to listening to music unless I reset (turn off and back on) the BT headset. Often I need to restart the media player because it also loses it's notion of where to send the audio.
Could a utility (or better yet a fix) be made to turn back on the wireless stereo/BT connection?
I have a PPC-6700 and have been trying all of WMP, TCPMP and Pocket Player. All have their quirks but this losing of BT connectively for the purposes of listening to music is killing me.

me too! got the bt (I have no idea how i did it!) to work with voice command, works ok. But yeah, when listening to music, if i take a call, my media player will pause to take the call, but when i hang up, the bt will pick up for a second then it drops it back to the phone. i have the btaudo file assigned a separate button so i have to push this to get the sound back to the bt. can if you can figure this out, let me know.
Can i assign a command to the btaudio so i can activiate this w/ the voice command?
xyzzy, read your thread about the bt.exe file and changing the name. I can only find a btaudiotoggle.exe, bt...on.exe and bt...off.exe. do you rename the btaudiotoggle.exe
If you rename the btaudio.exe file to "audio gateway.exe" and place it in \windows\start menu\programs, you could then use a voice command "open audio gateway" to launch btaudio and reestablish the audio connection

I attached btaudio.zip to my message, this is not the btaudiotoggle program, but rather a program that is designed to open up the audio gateway after Voice Command has closed it when launched with a voice command.
ok, didn't realize they were different programs. will go check that out and try it! one more thing, after i lose the connnection to the bt, i.e. phone call, i have to pause the music to get a connection back to the bt. is this just the nature of the beast? Thanks for the post.
ok, opened your link and downloaded the file, unzipped, i got the btaudio file, put in the start/programs file. when i use the command open audio gateway, sometimes it will go to the bt for a second then default back to the phone, opens calendar or whatever (think this is more vc/audio than the program). If I tap the audio gateway file on the screen, bingo, goes to the bt? any ideas?

You're probably using WMP. But WMP doesn't work well for me. Here's the deal. I want to listen to music. I want to holster my phone. Holstering it often causes buttons to accidentally be hit so I use device lock.
Now I'm listening to music and say I enter a story. I need to interact with the cashier. So I want to pause playback. But pausing playback is a bitch because I gotta unholster, unlock it (two taps) and get to WMP then pause and probably re-holster it. When I'm done I have to unholster again, locate WMP and start playback again. Then back to the Today screen and lock it then finally holster it. A bother!
What I want is a simple pause button that works when the device is locked. Now the power button does this. But when powering back up WMP plays for a second then dies. Well not completely dies but the playlist is lost. Everything says "unknown". Turns out this happens with things on the SD card - where all of my music is! So WMP isn't good.
TCPMP works a little better in this regard but has it's own set of problems as does Pocket Player.
Couple all of this with BT loosing connectivity when taking a call or even adusting my BT headset and accidentally hitting the call button and you have frustration city. That's were I live right now!

So far the only thing that this btaudio.exe program does for me is bring up the voice tag thing. It does not resume the music signal back to the BT - quite the opposite. It always breaks it and runs the voice tag thing.

Probably. In fact I believe the reason to rename it is to have it have a more "natural" name. Voice Command will run anything in your start menu. So if it's called "Audio Gateway.exe" a "Start Audio Gateway" should restart it. Hell name it Bluetooth!
However with the above problems I'm having I'm not about to shell out $40 for MS's Voice Command! Way too many problems to work out first before adding to the mix.
Oh, you haven't installed 1.6? I was under the imrpession that you had installed 1.6 and you were having this problem.
btaudio.exe when executed should start streaming audio through your BT headset.
Just did the following experiment. Listening to an MP3 file with TCPMP. I have a PPC-6700 and I have a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 BT headset. It's streaming to the BT Headset just fine.
So I start File Explorer and run this btaudio.exe (I have not put it into the Start Menu or a button or anything). Playback stops and the Voice Tag application runs then says there are No trained voice tags and then goes to the Voice Speed Dial screen for me to add a voice tag.
Switch back to TCPMP and there is no sound going to the BT headset.
OK so I try running btaudio.exe again hoping that it will re-establish the BT headset audio connection. Same deal. Just starts the Voice Tag application. Never re-establishes the BT audio.
I attempt to reset this by turning off the BT headset then back on. Sometimes this works. This time it doesn't. Instead the phone is hung and I have to reset. Wonderful.
Repeat test. Same results but the BT headset comes back this time and plays that little sound. Except TCPMP does not just start broadcasting to the BT. I have to restart it. Restarting TCPMP now plays through BT.
Hitting the call button on the BT headset does roughly the same thing, stops TCPMP, calls up the Voice Tag thing and never re-establishes the audio stream to BT for TCPMP.
Probably not related but for some reason I cannot tap the X or OK button in the upper right hand corner anymore! For any application! The OK button works but I can't tap it with the stylist. I can tap Start and other areas of the top bar just not the X/OK button.
Geeze I wish it would solve mine! People keep saying that this fix or that fix solved their problem. My problem remains. zizo72, I see you have a PPC-6700. What BT headset do you have? What media player are you using? What happens when you try what I describe above?
xyzzy, yup, when i hit the bt button, it will open vc and i can say "start audio gateway" and it seems to take me to the last program i had open, in this case wmp. what do you think? I'm pretty new to this, when i downloaded your zip file, i saved to my desktop, i unzipped it here and i got one file, the btaudio, and i placed this in the windows/start/programs/ folder. Am i doing something wrong? it still goes to the bt for about 2 secs then defaults to the phone1
