Mine only announces text messages and email subjects over BT. Incoming call announcements only come over the phone speaker. This may be by design?
Chrono, is your phone set to vibrate or silent mode? Announcements only work when the PDA volume (the one on the left of the two virtual sliders) is above zero.
:-p Turns out I had the damn thing set to just announce high priority messages. For anyone else that is having the same problem, the default option is to have it just announce high priority, so be sure to check that.
Thanks for the help anyway though- greatly appreciated.
VC 1.6 will only announce calls over the BT headset on WM5.3+ due to support for inband ring tones in that build. If you're running something prior to 5.3, the incoming phone call announcements will not occur over bluetooth regardless of the settings. At or after 5.3, the settings work as exepcted.
Handango so bites the big one! I've been trying to buy the upgrade all day! All I get are weird error messages---I live in the wrong country (I'm in Texas, so maybe they consider that a whole other country), I have the wrong device, my credit card is being corrected for duplicate accounts..... I just want the smurfing upgrade!
No offense Xyzzy, but M$ needs to hop into bed with at least another vendor, (Pocket Gear?), or sell it themselves. Handango is not CS friendly...

That only brought up an error of duplication. I emailed them back again about that message around 6:00pm still no reply. What a joke!!!! I live in Pittsburgh which must be in Japan/ china/ africa my heads spinning wheres the United States???? HELP!!!!!!

Same here. They changed their tune with me also and just wanted me to purchase the full 1.6 and take a $30 credit.
The upgrade link actually works for me now so no since in going through the credit hassle, but I think I will hold out on this for a while. I'm a 6700 user so BT announce won't work anyway. I haven't read anything else I really wanted from this that is worth $10.
I was all set to upgrade. Then I get the e-mail message error and realized I purchased through Amazon (since I had a GC). So, I guess no path to upgrade. I'm on a Verizon XV6700. After reading the posts above, I think I'll sit back and let the blood flow before I upgrade. Sounds like people are losing functionality with this upgrade.
Once the blood starts clotting again, someone drop a post and I'll give it a whirl.
Ok, you are correct, the PPC6700 is not running WM5.3, so it will not route the incoming call announcements through the BT headset. Voice Command 1.6 does close the audio gateway after a BT interaction.
How is it that you're using the audio gateway after using Voice Command? Would it be sufficient if you could issue a second voice command such as "open audio gateway" after the first command that would cause the audio gateway to open and stay open?
The only announcements that won't work properly on the PPC6700 are the incoming call announcements. All other announcments should be routed through the BT headset if the notification options are set that way. Incoming call announcements will be routed to the headset when installed on WM5 AKU3+ devices.
I used the LAUNCH20 coupon on Handango last night for this software and paid 32 dollars for it. Yes it is still pricey for this kind of software, but much better then spending 40 dollars!
