I tried entering my e-mail address at the Handago upgrade page in lower case - it worked.
However, after I purchased the upgrade, it wouldn't install because it said I did not have a compatible device. I tried again and was told I needed to have some version of Voice Command installed before I could install the upgrade. And what's MS Voice Command 1.6 for M to M?
Help!
Kreigz, one other thing. The upgrade is for WM 5.0 devices only.
Also, ActiveSync 4.0+ is required
This is how voice command should have worked from day one!!!! Wow, this is amazing. It works 100% 100% 100% perfectly; I've been throwing all kinds of stuff at it with my voyager 510 and it hasn't missed a beat.
Tip: when you install, you may need to soft reset afterwards. I didn't do that and I was having some trouble getting it working (wasn't responding to BT button presses). Now it works great!
This is like having my old Motorola E815 back again!!!
how do you go about getting the update if you bought VC at the store and have the disk rather than getting it through handango? Any information would be greatly appreciated
I am interested in getting this. Though 40 dollars seems kind of steep, I guess it may very well be worth it. Do they offer a trial version so you can try it before you buy it? How much space does it take up? I would assume it needs to be installed on the main memory for performance reasons?
Yeah, I know ... I did ... I even installed 1.5 again. Still no luck.

The upgrade worked perfectly for me through Handango. Just remember to delete v.1.5 from the mobile device only before upgrading. I'll try it with my BT headset (scala500) later today.
1.6 is fast. and direct BT connection. Its Great. One drawback. i was using Jet BTFExt and VC over BT with 1.5 and not only did it work, but i could leave the BT w/o connecting to VC and listen to the radio, Sling box, etc . Cant do that now. When VC ends, so does BT connection. Anyone know a way around this?
I loaded 1.6 and it seems to work as before. No problem when using the button on the phone. I have not been able to get it to work with my Voyager 510 BT. Is there a hack needed?
Thanks...Brad
P.S. I used UPX to compress the EXE and DLL files. They were reduced from 2.4 meg to just under 1 meg.
I saw that posted above. I had already tried that and it does not work yet. It also does not announce calls over the headset. I set the notification preference to announce via BT Headset if available.
VC 1.6 will only announce calls over the BT headset on WM5.3+ due to support for inband ring tones in that build. If you're running something prior to 5.3, the incoming phone call announcements will not occur over bluetooth regardless of the settings. At or after 5.3, the settings work as exepcted.
Try uninstalling on the PPC and reinstalling.
Also, I'm guessing that you're using a 6700 and not a 6600 as the 6600 was not a Windows Mobile 5.0 based device which is a requirement for 1.6
You are using a 510 headset. Are you holding the button down until it beeps twice? The way this works is you hit the button and hear the high beep. Then keep holding it until you hear a low beep, and let go. Sometimes you have to do this twice, but after the low beep voice command should play the listening prompt.
To all: Handango just sent me a note indicating that 1.5 and 1.6 had the same product codes this morning which was why entering email addresses didn't work reliably. Supposedly they've fixed it now; thanks to all who wrote in. Enough of us did that so that they figured out what was going on.
I got a response from Handango about the upgrade. I had just recently purchased 1.5 just 4 days ago. They agreed to refund me my original purchase after I purchase the full copy of 1.6. Sounds good to me.
My only issue is my original purchase was using the LAUNCH20 20% discount code and that won't work now. I don't want to buy the new one at $39.99 and only get $31.99 refunded. I am awaiting their response.
For the life of me, I cannot get VC 1.6 to announce my emails or SMS. I do have it enabled under the settins, and I also have it set to announce notifications over the internal speaker. I am using a PPC-6700. Thanks in advance!!
I just bought and installed 1.6 and I can not get the software to announce who is calling over BT. I have the blueant X3 micro. I have the bluetooth working fine with the software and I can use it, but when an incoming call comes in, it goes to the speaker on the PPC6700 and not through the bluetooth unit. I have it to only send notifications through bluetooth headset. Any suggestions?
Mine only announces text messages and email subjects over BT. Incoming call announcements only come over the phone speaker. This may be by design?
Chrono, is your phone set to vibrate or silent mode? Announcements only work when the PDA volume (the one on the left of the two virtual sliders) is above zero.
I was really hoping it would be able to announce who is calling over the headset as you can not hear the voice on the pda sometimes! That really bums me out!

p.s. is anyone else having trouble having voice command read your numbers when you want it to dial a number?
While it greatly improves Bluetooth performance, it takes away the audio gateway. I really depend on that to redirect my GPS notifications to the headset.
This new VC version when you launch it, it redirects the audio for a few seconds and then closes it down.
