It seems that Verizon has taken down the QuickConnect network. I am stopped over in Yuma, AZ & when I was here 1 month ago, I was able to connect w/my Kyocera 7135, which is set to QNC, not 1XRTT. This week I was foiled with a PPP timeout error. My wife's Motorola V710 was also denied access to the BREW app in QNC data transmission mode.
It looks like they have finally closed every loophole to get data w/o a data plan.

It's probably just a local outage. Many handsets are programmed to access WAP over QNC only, so shutting that down would also make WAP inaccessible. Just call Verizon and complain that your WAP stopped working. It's a supported feature, so they will need to give you some form of support and satisfaction.
