6700 owner since August - anything better?

Hi,

I've owned a 6700 since August and use it mostly for constant online activity.. such as instant messaging client (agile messenger). I also have tried to use it as a phone but not so happy with it.

things I don't like:

1) Slow - compared to a modern Dell Axim is seems sluggish.
2) Bluetooth I get bad range and static with multiple headsets. Plus delay in connection.
3) Battery life. I have the extended battery, but being constantly on the internet I get anywhere from 2 to 4 hours... not much longer.

I know we ALL want better - the question is - should I be looking at another brand/model that has imrovements in these areas without being WORSE than the 6700 in other areas?

Thank you.

Being a new XV6700 owner, I've been asking similar questions. I'll address your.

1. WM5 is inherently slow because it places programs/files on flash instead of RAM like older operating systems. Plus, because of battery issues, manufacturers are unwilling to put top speed processors on the PDA phone editions.

2. I have not experienced this issue just yet, but make sure you're using a BT headset that is BT version 1.2 because this supposedly decreases interferences, thus reducing static.

3. This is an issue for me as well. Perhaps you just need to carry a spare battery. If you want longer battery life, there is the Treo 700w and also the new Moto Q, which both run Smartphone edition.

I'm not completely satisfied with the 6700, but I am learning to appreciate the convergance.
