Locking pda/phone

I have a siemens sx66, you can lock it. I am afraid if I do I won't be able to unlock it. The only reason I would want it locked is so that when I walk and have it with me, I don't bump the screen or the phone screen. It says to lock it will lock everything but the power on button. The book doesn't explain it very well and I wondered if anyone could help me so I understand it better. Does that mean the phone wouldn't be on then either. I can't miss a call because my husband is going in for a lung transplant. I just don't want to do anything stupid and regret it. I looked on all the other forums but couldn't find the question I am asking. You all have been so helpful before. I thought I would ask one time more.

It does lock. If you hit the power button it will unlock it. The phone is still active. The problem is, if an email or call comes in, the screen turns on and your phone is no longer locked. So phone calls do come through and so does email but then your phone is unlocked. This is a real pain especially if you have a bluetooth headset.

I use this:

Thank you so much! What would I do without you!! You have answered all my questions in the last three weeks since I bought the PDA. I can't thank you enough.
