Educate me....
About different providers. In mopping up after the hurricane blew by us, I noticed that Sprint service was unavailable. I could get analog roaming, but that was a provider a long way away, requiring an area code for local calls and the reception lost calls continuously. At the same time, my local Alltell provider was up and running, but my phone wouldn' t automatically pick up Alltell. How do the companies decide who they will share roaming with? I, being naive, at first figured the phone would pick up any cell provider if it couldn't get it's regular provider, but I'm sure there's money involved here somewhere.....in our situation, it was downright unsafe that we couldn't get a local alternative provider when Sprint was down....
