I think it is a normal progression as they come out with larger sizes. I mean CF is up to 4GB, I think. I know I just got a 2GB for $260. It's just a matter of time before we see a 2GB SD (I hope).
how much are they at ,say compusa and the like? i would rather walk in and pick one up vs jumping thru jops and setting yet another account with a company i may never shop form again....

Last time I was pricing SD cards at places online like Buy.com or eCost.com vs. places like Best Buy, CC, CompUSA, etc. the difference in price was huge. That may have changed somewhat, but I doubt it. I would guess that you'll pay 33%-50% more to get them in a local retail store. Let me know what you find out though

Its basically been dropping about the same rate since around 1987 I think.... seriously, memory will continue to go down until they hit the atomic limits of the materials. I used to work in a memory factory and its an interesting business.
