An idea for instant messaging (not wireless)

Okay..well I'm home tonight due to a bad case of the flu, and I'm extremely bored..sooo I came up with an idea. I've noticed many people my age (some even older) that aren't allowed to install an instant messenger (either corporations, or at home, due to parents/restrictions)

Now, I was wondering since the majority uses MSN messenger, would it be possible to create either a web based session? a java program? Most importantly, something that doesn't need to be installed A.ka : show up in control panel.

I was taking the time earlier to look at the messenger connection protocol, I'll provide links ina few minutes, gotta do some things first

But there's a problem : I have very limited knowledge of Visual Basic or C++, but I think I can get along somewhat reasonably in Java.

So, I just thought it seemed like a good idea at the time, and wondering if there's any takers out there who'd like to help out, or something

I'm well awake also of the fact that one or two web based msn messengers are out there, but either one doesn't work, or it goes really slow. I'd like to run it off the same server my website runs off. Also, I found a program called jMSN..but it seems very complicated just to start with, and as we all know, not too many people are computer literate

AOL already has a web-based IM option which uses Java. Ever try that one?
